Road Trip in your EV with Confidence

Road Trip Across Georgia in your EV with Confidence

Road trip with confidence this summer in your electric vehicle! We’ve compiled a list of EV charger locations at popular destinations throughout Georgia along with our top tips for ensuring your electric road trip goes smoothly.

Tips for Planning an EV Road Trip

As the saying goes, a little planning and preparation go a long way. Before you hit the road, review our top tips for making sure your EV road trip goes off without a hitch.

  • Start out with a full charge. You wouldn’t leave for a weekend of fun with a nearly empty tank of gas, so charge up before you head out!
  • Plan your route beforehand. Take note of charger locations and where you plan to stop and recharge. Utilize PlugShare’s trip planner feature to expedite this process.
  • Check out the Google Maps app within your car’s digital display – it can keep track of metrics like battery level and energy usage. It can also easily add charging stops along your route based on performance and range.

Where To?

EnviroSpark has hundreds of charging ports across the state of Georgia, including several locations in top destinations.

Atlanta

In the A, there is no shortage of things to do, and thanks to EnviroSpark, no shortage of EV charging stations. These are a few of our favorite places to charge:

Plug in at the Georgia Aquarium and spend the day exploring the largest aquarium in the United States. Stay at the Hotel Clermont to take advantage of all that Ponce de Leon Avenue and Ponce City Market have to offer. Visiting foodies can recharge at Krog Street Market while golf lovers can head to Bobby Jones Golf Course for a round and recharge. And baseball lovers rejoice – Truist Park, home of our champion Atlanta Braves, offers EV charging.

Outside the Perimeter

Looking to venture away from the hustle and bustle of Atlanta? Head north to Dunwoody Nature Center or Lake Lanier Islands to get outside and charge your EV while recharging yourself.

North Georgia Getaway

Whether it’s a girls’ wine weekend or taking in Dahlonega’s historic district, EnviroSpark has multiple charging stations to keep you going. Stay at Dahlonega Square Hotel & Villas for free charging as a guest. Both Kaya Vineyard and Winery and Montaluce Winery also offer EV charging at their vineyards so you can “cheers!” and charge.

Coastal Cruising

Head to historic Savannah, the oldest city in the state, and enjoy its beautiful landscapes and antebellum architecture. The City of Savannah Parking Garage has got your charging needs covered. Looking to spend the night? Marriott Savannah Riverfront will help you and your EV recharge your batteries before the next day’s adventure.

For those looking to travel further south, Jekyll Island State Park has plenty of charging stations. Planning to stay? Book accommodations at Jekyll Island Club Resort, The Westin, or Hampton Inn & Suites for easy overnight charging.

Small Towns, Big Delight

Tifton

Tifton is teeming with things to do, from shopping to museums, and don’t forget to enjoy some down home Southern cooking. With charging stations located in the heart of downtown Tifton near City Hall and at multiple hotels, you can head south without worrying about where to charge.

Athens

While Athens is perhaps most widely known for being home to the University of Georgia and its back-to-back National Champion Bulldogs, Athens also boasts an incredible food and music scene. Make it a weekend of entertainment and indulgence in the Classic City with a stay at The Graduate or SpringHill Suites. For those making a day trip, plug in at The Classic Center downtown.

Rome

The Berry College campus is something out of a storybook; it’s also home to EnviroSpark chargers, so you can escape and enjoy the beautiful scenery, worry free. Chargers can also be found at Hampton Inn for those looking to extend their visit.

Charge On!

Nothing beats a good summer road trip, and with EnviroSpark’s extensive network of chargers, your next electric road trip is sure to be a great one.
